"My son's body is not in the grave", the father of the young

Ruçi seeks to uncover the true fate of his son, who lost his life two years ago.

Since Monday, Pano Ruçi, the father of Denis Ruçi, the young Albanian who lost his life in the railway tragedy in Tempi, Greece, has begun a hunger strike in front of the Greek Parliament building in Athens.

Ruçi seeks to uncover the true fate of his son, who lost his life two years ago.

He says he has serious doubts about the identity of the body that was handed over to him as his son, claiming that the Greek government has deceived him.

According to him, it is very likely that Denis Ruçi's body was completely burned during the accident, due to the powerful combustible materials, and that it is not in the grave where he rests.

"I don't want silence anymore. I want to exhume the body. I'm not convinced it's my son. I want to know the truth, even if it destroys me," he told Greek media.

The Ruçi family has been requesting transparency and DNA verification for two years, but claims to have received no official response.

The tragic event in Tempi shocked Greece in February 2023, when a passenger train collided with a freight train, leaving over 57 dead, most of them young students.
