After the claims of the judge of the Court of Tirana, Arnisa Kelliçi, that she was threatened through a letter, the KLJ convenes today the commission for the protection of magistrates. The meeting is scheduled to start at 10:00.
Kelliçi said two days ago that the letter contained threatening information for her and her family, while she requested special protection at the Supreme Court.

"Today, on January 20, 2024, I received an offensive letter that, as far as I can decipher, contains threats to me, my children and my family. I cannot attest to the authenticity of this letter at any time. Having said that, for any eventuality, I ask for special protection as much as you deem necessary" - said in the letter of Judge Kelliçi.
Genesis seems to be related to a report that the chancellor of the Tirana court made to the prosecutor's office about a prosecutor. The serious incident allegedly happened a few days ago, when the chancellor was called several times after midnight by a prosecutor, whose identity is not confirmed, and when the chancellor picked up the phone, he started threatening him through messages. Faced with such a situation, the chancellor called the prosecutor back, to understand the reasons why he was sending such threatening and insulting messages. Sources confirm that through his wife's cell phone, he recorded the threatening phone call with the prosecutor. In the ongoing conversation, the prosecution included the name of a female judge, threatening to kill her.
In addition to the criminal report, the chancellor has set in motion the High Inspector of Justice, demanding disciplinary proceedings against the prosecutor, for a serious breach of professional ethics. The sources are very reserved to give explanations about the case, due to the fact that all the people involved are part of the justice system. So, the judge will be protected by the police until the special commission for the protection of judges and prosecutors is convened.
