The Special Appeals Chamber has suspended the vetting process for former prosecutor Arjan Ndoja.
The decision was announced today (April 22) by the KPA and came after the withdrawal of the appeal by Ndoja himself, who is running for MP under the Democratic Party. The KPA dismissed him from office and the former prosecutor appealed the decision to the KPA. However, he has now decided to enter politics and has decided to discontinue the process for him, accepting the dismissal and exclusion from the system for 15 years.
The panel of the Special Appellate Chamber was composed of Natasha Mulaj as chairperson, Sokol Çomo as rapporteur, Albana Shtylla, Ina Rama, and Mimoza Tasi as members.
" The adjudicating body announced the decision on case no. 32/2022, dated 14.07.2022, which concerns the appeal of the reassessment subject Arian Ndoja against the decision of the Independent Qualification Commission no. 528, dated 06.05.2022.
At the end of the trial in the consulting room, the panel, based on Article G of the Annex to the Constitution and Law 84/2016, “On the temporary re-evaluation of judges and prosecutors in the Republic of Albania”, unanimously decided:
1. Termination of the transitional reassessment process for the reassessment subject Mr. Arian Ndoja.
2. Prohibition of the appointment of Mr. Arian Ndoja as a judge or prosecutor of any level, member of the High Judicial Council or the High Prosecutorial Council, High Inspector of Justice or Prosecutor General, for a period of 15 years.
"This decision is final and has immediate effect ," the KPA decision states.
