Today, the implementation of the criminal amnesty in Albanian prisons has begun, with 541 convicts benefiting from immediate release, while 803 others receive sentence reductions or other relief according to the law.

The head of SPAK, Klodian Braho, reported to the Assembly on the balance sheet for 2025, where he spoke about hot issues such as "The Albanian Files", the meeting in Aruba, electoral crime and investigations into criminal assets abroad. Braho emphasized that SPAK acts only on the basis of evidence and that no one is above the law.

Meanwhile, the head of the BKH, Joni Keta, stated that the institution has increased its capacities for investigating cryptocurrencies, describing them as a global challenge in the fight against crime. He said that the BKH does not intend to compete with the State Police, but to cooperate with it.

The Special Appeal continued with the Fier incinerator case, where SPAK requests the recovery of evidence, while the defense opposes the reopening of the process.

The Court of Appeals upheld the 16-year prison sentence for Mario Përlleshaj, the perpetrator of the murder of Martin Cani and the injury of another minor.

The Tirana Prosecutor's Office seized two apartments and a garage belonging to a person convicted of drug trafficking, while in Lezha five parcels of cannabis were discovered and two people were arrested, with an investigation also underway for four OSHEE employees.

In Novoselë, a fire has been reactivated, endangering nearby homes, while in Italy, the Guardia di Finanza cracked down on a cocaine trafficking network, arresting two Albanians and a Romanian, with drugs worth around 20 million euros on the market.
