QSUT has reacted to the case of the 3-year-old child Brian Spahiu, who died as a result of surgical intervention in the mouth.
QSUT says that the child passed away "as a result of complications that accompany serious anomalies of heart diseases".
" Based on some publications in some online media about the case of the BD child who unfortunately lost his life as a result of complications that accompany severe abnormalities of heart diseases in a newborn, the Cardiosurgery service of QSUT, clarifies that:
"Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center every day carries the life-saving mission for tens of thousands of citizens who come from all over Albania, but also from the surrounding territories. Over the years, more than 1300 cases of small patients have been treated with great success.
Even during the intervention performed on the child BD, even after the operation, the care of the doctors was maximum and he was given the necessary service, being followed very carefully by the resuscitation team of the QSUT.
The family members were also informed before the intervention about possible post-operative complications, about the condition of congenital pathology and that of the child before the intervention. Doctors have received their approval to perform the intervention.
We feel it necessary to emphasize that no member of the staff of the "Mother Teresa" University Hospital Center has been contacted to provide explanations for the case in question, so that the case is reflected in a balanced way in the public opinion.
Therefore, taking into account the inaccuracies in the media publications, we emphasize that the work of this national life-saving service, at least, should be handled verified and taking into account all the details of the case in question.
QSUT is and will remain the daily address of their health problems and does not deserve ill-informed comments from anyone in any case. "- it is said in the reaction of QSUT.
