It has also been said that Albania is a country that has been declared an "enemy" by Iran. Let's not forget that we have expelled the Iranian ambassador and closed their embassy after the cyber attack. On the other hand, our country has also been mentioned by Supreme Leader Al Khamenei himself.
In 2020, the US carried out an operation in Baghdad where it killed a senior Iranian general and 7 others. The event brought many reactions and in the speech Al Khamenei gave, he also mentioned our country.
" There is a small and evil place in Europe where the Americans are collaborating with Iranian traitors, plotting against the Islamic Republic. Their plan was clear, with the protests they held in Iran, after some of those traitors came to Iran to protest. The enemy agents began to implement a plan to sabotage and destroy our government and Constitution ," Al-Khamenei declared.
Albania is providing shelter to 3,200 members of the Iranian Resistance, part of the popular organization of the Iranian Mujahedeen, or MEK.
