The hearing against the former mayor of Durrës, Vangjush Dako, has been going on for 3 hours in the Special Court.
The session started at 12.00 and continues behind closed doors.
Through his lawyer, Dako requested the dismissal of the case or a shortened trial.
It is known that Dako rejected the accusations leveled against him, saying that the projects are easily verifiable.
"The permit for the palace was a collegial decision. As for the coastline tender, the project is verifiable, and SPAK's accusations do not stand", said Dako in the session.
The charges brought against Dako and the other arrested persons are for abuse of office and forgery of seals and forms, in two cases: in the procedure of granting permission for the construction of a multi-storey building and misuse of public funds in the procurement procedure for the construction of a promenade on the coast.
In today's session, it will be decided whether the case should continue to be investigated or whether it will go to trial.
Meanwhile, the hearing is continuing with the statements of the other accused.
