The Court of Special Appeals has postponed the review of the appeal made by the officials suspected of abuse of power in relation to the Tirana incinerator affair.
The next session is adjourned for tomorrow at 12:00. We remind that the former Minister of the Environment Lefter Koka, the former Director of Public Works in the Municipality of Tirana, Taulant Tusha, Namik Simixhiu, Bledar Karoli who are in prison, while Alba Thoma, and Silena Tola, Sidrita Kopliku and Pëllumb Abeshi who are under house arrest, request lighter security measures, with the claim that they have not committed a criminal offense.
The suspects claim that they have no opportunity to interfere and spoil the evidence, while there is no risk that they will avoid the investigation of the case.
In relation to this investigative matter, the agents of the National Bureau of Investigation landed at the offices of the Directorate of Public Works located near Durrës Street, where they conducted a search, taking computers from there and seizing various files.
Taulant Tushe is known as the confidant of the mayor of Tirana, Erjon Veliaj, and he is the highest official of the Municipality so far who has been arrested for the Tirana incinerator.
