Yesterday, Tirana was the host country for the leaders of the EU and the Balkans, on the occasion of the Berlin Process Summit. The absence of President Emmanuel Macron was noticed, however the French head of state had announced that he would come later and arrived at 19.30. Since he could not be here for lunch, the Albanian prime minister did his best to honor him with a dinner at the Brigade Palace.
The dinner, which had a combination of Albanian and European dishes, was neatly served by the chef of one of the most famous restaurants in Tirana: Tribe restaurant.
'Pamphlet' provided the menu served last night, along with related photos:
Welcome dishes/ Homemade bread, goat butter, coarse salt, sour cream
Pispili/ pickled tomatoes Korçe, crispy kackavall, salad bouquet
Black beans / beef cheek, Dumre saffron puree, oregano oil, pie chips
Beef fillet/ wild plum sauce, celery puree, white truffle, rice cake with mushrooms and caramelized onions
Baked fli in saç / caramelized figs, roasted hazelnut cream, caramel sauce
During the dinner, President Macron said:
"I am raising my glass to Albania, the Albanian people, to the close and special ties that unite us. For the Europe we build together. Long live Albania, long live Franco-Albanian friendship!", he said in Albanian, words which were taught to him by the former captain of the national team, Lorik Cana. / Pamphlet
