The full testimony of Denis Meçe, the 29-year-old who is accused of raping the 42-year-old Egli Proga to death, which happened on August 10 in the city of Pogradec, has been revealed.
In the testimony given to the investigators, Denis Meçe stated that he did not know the victim and that they met by chance in the bar.

Yesterday, around 15:30, I don't remember the time well, I was in Pogradec and I spoke on the phone with the citizen Klodi G., to meet him and he told me to come to X local. I went there and he was sitting at a table outside with an older man, but he then left. Then a taxi driver came to the table. There we talked about business relations for passengers from the German state and we were drinking beer. While we were sitting there, after 3 hours, this guy comes. I didn't know his name, but I knew his face (Eglantin Proga).
He greeted us and entered the bar. At one point I ran out of cigarettes and went inside and told the owner of the bar about cigarettes. There this boy told me; So I twisted one and out of respect I took it from him. I took the cigarette and when I turned my back, he insulted me saying; "to q...race". I ignored him and went outside and sat at my desk. He then continued to curse in my direction with the same curse. He also insulted Claude by calling him by his mother's name, but he didn't pay attention either. As this situation continued, I went inside and told him; let's go outside and talk. He told me; "Come on, what are you going to do to me, you're going to eat me...".
We went out. I wanted to slap him on the cheek to calm him down, but when I got close to him, I raised my hand, he fell to the ground and never got up. I was not trusted at all and after being scared of the situation, I left. I mean I had been drinking all day and he was drunk as far as I could see. On the way to Buçimas village, I stopped my car on the side of the road and slept because I was drunk. When I fell asleep, I called the lawyer telling him what had happened because I was worried and he told me that the injured person had passed away. At this moment I told the lawyer; come pick me up and accompany me to the police station, because I want to give my statements.
I want to emphasize that I did not have any conflicts with the injured person, nor did I get to know him. I wanted to draw attention to you, but he was so drunk that he could hardly stand on his feet. I was so drunk, I don't know how I fell. I feel remorse even though I was drunk. I apologize to the family and ask that the truth be revealed, because as I said, not only did I not have the intention to kill him, but also to cause him any kind of harm. I am currently psychologically stressed and I cannot give any other information due to my psychological condition, as I am also in shock.
