A professional assassination attempt, carried out on November 11 near the Rinas area, shocked the capital and left one person dead and one seriously injured.
The victim, Gilmando Dani, was shot with about 20 bullets and died on the spot; Muçi Shaljani "Sheqeri" was injured, hit with 10 bullets, two of them in the head, and is currently in serious condition at the Trauma Hospital.
Law professor Kreshnik Myftari, invited by journalist Besard Jacaj, spoke about the event on the "Klan News" show. Myftari described the assassination as one of the most sophisticated he has seen in the last decade and demanded strict procedural measures from the investigative institutions.
" The first, most sophisticated, most synchronized murder of almost the last 10 years. It had been a while since I heard, had not seen an ambush of this nature, starting from planning to execution and synchronization of the actions of the perpetrators. I was stunned when I saw it ," said Myftari, describing the elements that make the event unusual by local standards.
Myftari focused on the authors' precision and the method of execution: " The completion of the objective is at a distance of about 30 meters, the method of approaching with a calmness, with a slowness, with a self-confidence, because it is an extraordinary self-confidence and we have a synchronization of the authors' actions and it makes it one of the most sophisticated events ."
He described how all the attackers knew their role and acted in a coordinated manner: " Everyone has synchronized actions, everyone knows their role, everyone knows what they are going to do. They collect evidence, all the weapons that have fallen there, because committing a murder at that hour is not easy. "
According to the footage and initial information, everything lasted seconds, but the planning appears to have been deliberately lengthy. The perpetrators are suspected of having observed the tools they used several days earlier, raising suspicions of informant support.
The butler raised serious doubts about the presence of inside information: " One possibility is that they had an informant inside, beyond the information that may have come to them from airport officials. However, what will provide a full explanation for the incident is the fact that this vehicle or other vehicles observed them, waited for them for several days in that place ."
He also added that the victim's vehicle was not armored: " The vehicle was not armored, but it has some kind of modification... Up to a certain caliber, those windows are resistant; but not against the most powerful combat weapons used today ."
The priest pointed out that this lack of vigilance, combined with the professionalism of the perpetrators, creates a fatal combination: " This is a lack of vigilance on the part of the individuals, knowing the conflicts and events they are involved in; so they did not think that an ambush could be set up for them in that place and at that time ."
The legal expert made a clear appeal to the police and investigation structures: " We must take the procedural action, from the cordoning off of the scene, the markings, and all that. We must take the action; it could be that they left a hair of a hand there, it could be a fingernail ."
He criticized the trend of exclusive reliance on technology, highlighting the dangers of relying solely on devices: “ The drone is too sophisticated for the Albanian police; they should learn to surround the scene and not allow curious individuals to enter the scene .”
Myftari emphasized that investigations should focus on analyzing video footage, verifying the vehicles used, investigating the possibilities of informational support, and ballistic analysis of weapons.
