Elections in Himare, KRIIK publishes preliminary findings: Unauthorized persons

The Coalition for Reforms, Integration and Consolidated Institutions (KRIK) has made public the preliminary findings for the elections in Himara.

According to KRIIK, even in these elections, the presence of unauthorized persons was observed near the voting centers, which is illegal as voters may feel intimidated.

" The unauthorized persons standing near the polling stations were either equipped with lists or, mostly in small villages, did not carry one because the community is small and they know each other more. This allowed them to have complete information on the people who appeared to vote" , says the KRIIK report.

According to KRIIK, the commissioners asked the voters to sign the list even though they were identified through the PEI. Kriik says that according to the Electoral Code, the voter signs the list of voters only if he is on this list and it was not possible to identify him through the PEI.

"Observers noticed a very high number of voters who either did not paint their fingers at all or did not paint after voting, in violation of the prescribed procedures."

Among other things, KRIIK says that 'The environments of the voting centers, in a considerable number of cases, were not suitable for voting and in a very depreciated state, completely unsuitable for performing the function of a voting center. Meanwhile, in a high number of polling stations there were no posters explaining the voting procedures or that should present the candidates.
