For 4 days, numerous Albanian and Macedonian forces have been working to contain the flames that have engulfed a significant area of pastures, medicinal plants and low vegetation in Mount Dry.
Most of the burned surface is on the side of North Macedonia, but what worries our fire service, the forest service, the service workers in the municipality of Pustec is the fact that the fire has already entered our side of Mount Dry and is in danger of entering in the Prespa National Park.
In order to prevent such a thing, the army forces have been engaged, as well as three Cougar helicopters of our Armed Forces and two of the emergency service from the Macedonian side who are doing everything to prevent the flames from passing into the wooded area of this park.
Starting tomorrow, other vehicles of the fire service as well as forces of this service from other municipalities of Korça district are expected to be in operation, but the rugged mountainous terrain and the lack of roads make the work of everyone difficult.
