The fire situation continues to remain difficult in Shengjin.
Arben Cara, General Director of Fire Protection and Rescue, says that the fire remains active due to atmospheric conditions and difficult terrain, he emphasized that they are working with all capacities to make it possible to extinguish the flames.
"The fire is active. We are working with all capacities, so we have over 20 firefighting vehicles and 80 army forces, helicopters. The strong wind has caused the fire to activate from time to time, creating difficulties for us in bringing it under control.
The only thing we have to do is intervene from the air. Infrastructure is important for fire control. No residence was affected by the fire, we also evacuated foreign and Albanian tourists. The state police have done their duty. At the end of the day, it's about their safety and the moment we see that the fireplace is turned off, they can go back to vacation. If the wind continues, it is very difficult to extinguish as the fires are from one side to the other. This makes it more difficult for us also because of the terrain", he said.
