Edi Rama 11 years of legal battle... to clean the image tarnished by scandals!
Although there are no arrests and persecutions, Albania seems to be slowly turning into a small Turkey, at least as far as free speech is concerned.
Edi Rama has been in power for nearly 11 years and this is the government that has faced many scandals. But even though recently Rama has made it fashionable by turning the blame into individual, there are not few cases when the name of the prime minister and the names of his family members come up. But every time someone mentions their name, it seems that Rama and his people have found the solution: Sue in court.
The most recent case was that of his wife's daughter, Rea Xhillari, who sued Sali Berisha and some of his deputies. The cause of the lawsuit was a statement by Berisha, accusing Rama's stepdaughter of having received tenders through the company where she works. " The country's first single, the daughter of the Rama family, has benefited through the companies '51N4E', a Belgian studio in which Rea Xhillari was employed. The truth is that the company '51N4E', 'I Riu' and other companies directly connected to the first daughter have won 2.9 billion lek tenders ", said Berisha.
What is surprising is that his accusations were made in the fall of last year, why did Rea remember to sue him now? But this seems to be a known method of the Rama family.
His brother is following the same path. In addition to Rea, a few weeks ago Olsi's name also appeared on the scene, as, according to Gazment Bardhi, he is one of the people involved in the drug laboratory in Xibraka. Rama did not stop the attacks on Bardhi, as Olsi knocked on the doors of SPAK, filling our minds with the fact that he has sued Bardhi criminally, while not filing a civil lawsuit in court.
Meanwhile, it should be noted that Olsi's name has been mentioned in many other cases, including the connections with Amant Josif, the scandal with Call Centers, or sports betting.
But undoubtedly Edi Rama holds the largest number of lawsuits. Since taking power, the prime minister started a legal battle with the PD deputies. We all remember when he sued Edi Paloka and Arben Ristan and went to the Supreme Court in every session, promising that he would take the money to the schools. There are many DP deputies sued by him, even though most of them were right.
But Rama has reached the peak with those who tell him the truth in his eyes. One of them is Ramush Haradinaj, whom he sued when he was prime minister of Kosovo. A scandalous lawsuit that undermined relations between the two countries. The reason for the lawsuit was that Haradinaj accused him of inciting the exchange of territories, which later came to light. This plan was prepared with Grenell and Thaçin.
Also, the prime minister tried to sue the international media, but he withdrew because he realized that you didn't have the courts in your pocket. The first to catch his eye were the Germans. 'Bild' released the interceptions of files 339 and 184, where Rama also appeared. The latter threatened to sue, but withdrew. The same thing happened with "Rain". The Italians showed links with drug traffickers. He threatened them with a lawsuit and finally withdrew.
However, the biggest blow to Rama came in 2015. A confidential OSCE report appeared in the media, which stated that Rama had 200 million euros in assets hidden through "off shore" companies in the USA.
