Hezbollah has rejected a ceasefire agreement with Israel, while the Israeli army continues attacks on the group's targets in southern Lebanon.

The Trump administration announced a day earlier that Israel and Lebanon had agreed to implement a ceasefire aimed at stopping the fighting. The announcement raised expectations for a broader agreement that would lead to an end to the conflict between the United States, Israel and Iran. Tehran, which had made a halt to clashes between Israel and Lebanon a condition for any deal with Washington, earlier launched an attack on Kuwait, damaging the airport and injuring dozens of people. Meanwhile, the US military conducted operations near the Strait of Hormuz.

In an official statement, Hezbollah said it had informed Lebanese President Joseph Aoun of its rejection of the deal. According to the group, any acceptable agreement must begin with Israel's complete withdrawal from all Lebanese territories.

Hezbollah also stressed that the return of displaced people, the reconstruction process and the release of Lebanese prisoners are essential conditions for any future agreement. The Iran-backed group did not participate in the talks that led to the ceasefire agreement.

Fighting continues in southern Lebanon

Lebanese authorities have warned citizens not to move south of the Zahrani River, as Israel continues its bombardment of Hezbollah targets.

Israel Defense Forces spokesman Avichay Adraee stated that the targets include "installations and infrastructure located in your villages and surrounding areas."

"Anyone who moves south is putting their lives at risk," he said, warning of an expansion of the military operations zone in southern Lebanon. The statement came just hours after Israel and Lebanon announced a ceasefire agreement.

Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said the military would continue operations in Lebanon for the time being. He said Israeli forces would remain in parts of the country's south, which Israel considers part of a security zone to protect communities in the north from Hezbollah attacks.

He added that hundreds of thousands of Lebanese residents, forced to flee their homes since the fighting began in March, will not be able to return immediately.

The development marks the latest step in Israel's offensive in Lebanon, which is considered one of the deepest since 2000, when Israel withdrew to the internationally recognized "Blue Line" after 22 years of military presence. Last week, the Israel Defense Forces took control of Fort Beaufort, a strategic 12th-century fortress.
