Bayrou faces no-confidence motion, debate continues in French parliament; Macron

French Prime Minister François Bayrou faces a vote of confidence in the National Assembly today, a key moment that could determine the future of his government and the country's political stability. In his 43-minute speech, Bayrou called the vote a "historic question" for France's future, urging lawmakers to act with courage and responsibility to address the country's major challenges.

Bayrou stressed the urgent need for reform, citing a 51-year budget deficit, falling productivity, problems in education, migration and the defense of the French social model. He warned that high public debt was turning France into a "sinking ship," endangering the freedom of future generations.

" The biggest risk is not taking any action ," he said, calling for unity and bold decisions across political divisions.

The opposition reacted sharply. The Socialists, led by Boris Vallaud, accused Bayrou and President Emmanuel Macron of policies that "impoverish the poor and enrich the rich," declaring that they would not support the government.

On the other hand, the right-wing Republicans, represented by Laurent Wauquiez, expressed concern about political instability as an "economic poison", but their group remains divided, with some likely to vote for the government and others against.

If Bayrou loses the vote of confidence, Macron will be forced to appoint a new prime minister, deepening the political crisis in France. This situation could have serious consequences for the economy and stability of Europe. The debate in parliament continues, and the result of the vote is expected to be announced soon.
