Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has accused neighboring Finland of pursuing a path of war against Russia.
" After joining NATO, Helsinki is following the path of confrontation in preparation for war with Russia, under the pretext of defensive measures. It is obvious that it is preparing to attack us ," Medvedev said in an article published in the state agency, Tass.
He also complained that staffing is being created for army units in Lapland "which is located close to the Russian border," REL reports.
" It is not clear who these structures are aimed at, since NATO has declared Russia an enemy ," Medvedev wrote.
After the launch of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Finland abandoned its long-standing military policy and joined NATO, along with Sweden.
