The EU has responded to the statement of Russian President Vladimir Putin, who threatened that if NATO sends troops to Ukraine, nuclear war will break out.
The representative of the European Commission for Foreign Affairs, Peter Stano, said that Putin's speech is part of his re-election bid, as well as another of many examples of his attempts to avoid responsibility for the war that started in Ukraine.
"It was another opportunity for him to spread the well-known lies", emphasized Peter Stano, adding that he started the war against Ukraine is responsible for all the consequences within Russia, regionally in Ukraine, but also in the world.
Vladimir Putin delivered his annual state of the nation address to the Russian parliament following the death of Alexei Navalny, which Western countries blame on the Kremlin.
