United States President Donald Trump once again declared that the US has emerged victorious from the confrontation with Iran, emphasizing that the latter's military capabilities have been severely hit.
Speaking to the media before departing for Florida, Trump said that "we have won the war with Iran."
He claimed that US forces have neutralized key components of the Iranian military, stressing that "we destroyed everything. We are roaming free."
According to him, Iran's navy, air force and anti-aircraft systems have been severely damaged, while he assessed that from a military point of view, Iran is in a weakened state. "They are finished," Trump said.
However, Trump acknowledged that the situation remains tense at several strategic points, emphasizing that Iran continues to obstruct traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.
Donald Trump has also downplayed the possibility of a ceasefire with Iran, emphasizing that the US has the upper hand in the conflict and is not aiming for a temporary cessation of hostilities.
"We can have dialogue, but I don't want to have a ceasefire. There's no ceasefire when you're literally destroying the other side," he concluded.
His statements come at a time when tensions in the Middle East remain high and developments in the region are being closely followed by the international community.
