The Serbian embassy in Tehran has been damaged in airstrikes in Iran this morning. According to reports, the main target was a military base near the diplomatic headquarters, while the explosions also affected the embassy building. No injuries were reported.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić confirmed the incident in an interview with Prva TV. He said that authorities have begun withdrawing diplomatic staff from Baku and that all security procedures have been implemented. According to him, official documentation will be destroyed in accordance with diplomatic rules.
Vučić announced that the ambassador will initially leave for Azerbaijan along with his staff, but will then return to Tehran at his request, to help a couple with children who are still in Iran due to the current situation.
