Russian President Vladimir Putin sends condolences to Iran, following the American-Israeli attacks that eliminated their leader.

The Russian president expressed his condolences to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, as he "described the death of Ayatollah Khamenei as a cynical murder in violation of all norms of human morality and international law," according to the official TASS news agency.

"In Russia, Khamenei will be remembered as an outstanding statesman who made a significant contribution to the development of relations between the two countries," Vladimir Putin said, according to TASS.

"The Russian leader expressed his sincere condolences and support to Khamenei's relatives and family, as well as to the Iranian government and all the Iranian people."

For months, the CIA had been monitoring Iran's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, who was killed Saturday morning in a US-Israeli airstrike.

According to the New York Times, after months of surveillance, the CIA provided Israel with detailed and highly credible information that Khamenei would attend a meeting of senior Iranian officials in Tehran on Saturday.

At the same time, Israeli intelligence confirmed that the meeting would take place in the palace where he resided.

According to an American source, Khamenei was scheduled to hold a meeting in Tehran on Saturday evening, but Israeli intelligence revealed that the meeting would take place in the morning.

The opportunity was ideal. Washington and Tel Aviv decided to expedite the attack to kill him, to coincide with Khamenei's meeting with his inner circle.

Israeli sources said that intelligence agencies had detected multiple simultaneous high-level meetings, which led to the immediate activation of the operation.

Israeli network Channel 12 reported that about 30 bombs were thrown at the compound where Khamenei was staying, which, according to the same source, was underground at the time of the attack.

In addition to Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, his daughter, son-in-law, and niece were also killed in the American-Israeli attack.
