In a strong warning has come from the director of the FBI, Christopher Wray who told the members of Congress that the US is in danger of a terrorist attack.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation is concerned about the possibility of an organized attack in the United States similar to the massacre at a concert hall in Russia last month, the FBI director told a House committee on Thursday.

The March 22 massacre at a concert hall on the outskirts of Moscow left at least 144 dead, the deadliest attack in Russia in 20 years. An affiliate of the Islamic State militant group claimed responsibility for the attack, but President Vladimir Putin has sought to blame Ukraine without providing evidence.
US officials have expressed concern about the possibility of an attack by an individual or small group inspired by the war in Gaza between Israel and Hamas. But the FBI has growing concerns about a coordinated attack after the massacre in Russia.
At the end of fiscal year 2023, the FBI had 4,000 international terrorism investigations open, according to written testimony from Wray.
Of growing concern "is the potential for a coordinated domestic attack, similar to the ISIS-K attack that occurred in Russia a few weeks ago," Wray told lawmakers.
Wray cited the agency's terrorism concerns in an effort to persuade lawmakers to increase funding for the FBI, though he is likely to face strong opposition from Republican lawmakers.
Wray has issued similar warnings about threats to US security in the past.
He appeared before the Appropriations Committee on Thursday for a budget hearing titled "Fiscal Year 2025 Request for the Federal Bureau of Investigation."
The FBI had requested a budget of $11.3 billion.
A fiscal 2024 package passed by the House earlier this week and being considered by the Senate would fund the FBI by $10.7 billion, or $654 million less than the level enacted in 2023, according to a House Republican Briefing.
