Devastating fires have engulfed Pacific Palisades, an upscale area west of Los Angeles, threatening over 13,000 buildings and forcing the evacuation of over 30,000 residents. The flames, fanned by strong winds of over 80 km/h, have destroyed more than 1,200 hectares of land, causing chaos and fear in an area known for its famous residents, such as Tom Hanks and Dr. Deer.

President Joe Biden has offered federal assistance and remains in constant contact with local authorities to manage the situation. Dramatic footage, including footage released by actor James Woods, shows houses and streets engulfed in flames.
Evacuations are being carried out with difficulty due to congestion on winding roads and the Pacific Coast Highway, with many residents describing the situation as hell. In addition, more than 180,000 customers are without power, some schools are closed, and a senior center has been evacuated in Pasadena after flames approached a block away.
In addition to the fire in Pacific Palisades, another fire has spread in Altadena, engulfing 150 acres and prompting other evacuations. Officials warn that the situation could worsen due to unfavorable weather conditions and extreme dryness that characterizes Southern California.
