As the debate heated up between Donald Trump and Volodymyr Zelenskyy at the White House, our Sky News correspondent says he thought there would be a "physical clash".
In episode 41 of the 'Trump 100' podcast, Matthews said the Ukrainian leader sat there and endured "a nasty attack".
"The shouting, the pointing and the aggression, at one point I really thought it could end in a physical altercation," he said.
Matthews notes that there was "finger-pointing" and at one point Trump even imitated the Ukrainian president.
"He couldn't have tried harder to humiliate Zelenskyy," he says.
