The King of Great Britain has expressed his determination to expel his brother, Prince Andrew from the royal residence. Prince Andrew's actions have irreparably tarnished the image of the British crown following revelations of his inappropriate behavior towards underage girls, according to court documents released in the Epstein case.
The Duke has lived in the 30-room luxury home since 2003 and has stubbornly refused to leave, it was revealed this year. Arguing that his mother, Queen Elizabeth, gave it to him rent-free when he married, Prince Andrew remains in the mansion without… paying anything, even after divorcing Sarah Ferguson.
But the cost of maintaining this home is high, with King Charles awaiting an answer from his brother on how he plans to cover the required annual expenses now that he is no longer a member of the royal family.
According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail", King Charles himself covers the annual cost of 3 million pounds for his brother's security. Royal experts even believe that there is no way his younger brother can raise the money to maintain his own residence.
New revelations about the Epstein case from a court in New York put King Charles in a difficult position, who cannot sit idly by after the embarrassing revelations about Buckingham Palace.
Documents published early yesterday brought to the fore the Duke of York's relationship with American financier-pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, with claims that Prince Andrew sexually abused young girls and participated in "underage orgies".
The British prince has stubbornly denied all the accusations against him, however, according to the sources of the "Daily Mail" newspaper, although the revelations of the court documents did not surprise anyone, they call on King Charles to take a stand.
Newly released court documents are believed to have reinforced King Charles' determination that Andrew will never be allowed to return to royal duties.
"When it comes to any public role of his brother, there is no going back. There was always an agreement that Andrew could attend private and family events, as is his right. But not in public or official events. This has not changed."
But the cost of maintaining this home is huge, with King Charles awaiting an answer from his brother on how he plans to meet the annual expenses required now that he is no longer a member of the royal family.
Consequently, King Charles will have to…punish Prince Andrew in some way and one of them is to leave the 'Royal Lodge' for a smaller, more accessible and more protected property on the royal estate. Sources in the Daily Mail newspaper say that King Charles wants to solve this problem within the year.
