One of the witnesses to the Hamas massacre at the Supernova festival has described the horror of that day.
"At seven in the morning my wife woke me up and said hey there are bombs in Israel, I went outside the house and saw 50 children coming to my village, I asked them what was happening, I took the car and came here and brought 28 people who were alive , four or five girls were dead, I haven't slept for a week, I can't describe it, I'm very confused, they are taught at school that Jews must be killed," he told the media.
'Supernova' was supposed to be an outdoor music festival on the border between Gaza and Israel, with dance and electronic music that coincides with the Jewish festival of Sukkot, one of the most important religious celebrations and not a bloody massacre, as a result of a surprise attack.
Before the horror began, young people, mostly in their 30s, had gathered to celebrate and have fun until the surprise attack by the Palestinian group turned the festival scene into a bloodbath.
The Israeli military will attack by land, air and sea, it said in a statement ahead of an expected ground offensive - but gave no timing or specifics.
Israel has warned the 1.1 million Palestinians living in northern Gaza to evacuate from the south, and thousands have left by vehicle or on foot.
The UN aid agency told the BBC that Gaza is "being pushed into an abyss".
The US has sent a second aircraft carrier to the region to "deter hostile actions against Israel". Meanwhile, Iran has warned of "far-reaching consequences" if Israel continues to attack

More than 1,300 people were killed in Israel last weekend when Hamas fighters crossed the border to attack civilians and soldiers.
While 2,300 people have been killed in Israel's bombing campaign in the Gaza Strip, launched after that, Palestinian authorities say.
