In a photo published by the Associated Press, published a few moments after the assassination of Trump, police snipers respond with fire to the perpetrator.
This, it seems, is the moment when the snipers returned fire on the shooter, the American media write.
The gunman who tried to kill former President Donald Trump on Saturday has been identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, sources told The Post.
Crooks, of Bethel Park fired a gun where a bullet wounded the candidate for President of the United States.
Sources said Crooks was located on the roof of a manufacturing plant more than 130 meters from the stage at the Butler Farm Show grounds.
He was killed by Secret Service snipers. An AR-style rifle was later recovered.
Bethel Park is a village 40 miles south of where Butler's rally was held.
It is still unclear why Crooks shot the Republican presidential candidate.
Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump's campaign officials said in a statement to the media that he was in good health. Trump's first words from the hospital were thanks to the security forces who acted immediately.

"President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their swift action during this heinous act," spokesman Steven Cheung said in a statement. "He is fine and is being checked at a local medical facility. More details will be given later."
The Secret Service said in a statement that "the former president was out of danger" and that the matter was already under active investigation.
From the event, at least two people are known to have died after the gun incident at the Trump rally in Pennsylvania.
A local prosecutor told CNN that one of the victims was the person who fired a gun at the former US president after he stepped up to the podium to deliver his speech. The assassin was killed by Secret Service operatives.
The other victim is a person, part of the public at the rally, but another person is also reported to be in serious condition.
Meanwhile, the Republican candidate for the Senate, Dave McCormick, is reported by CNN to have said that he was in the front row of the audience at the rally and saw several people injured.
