
US President Joe Biden said in a statement that he is grateful to hear that Trump is doing well.
"I'm praying for him and his family and everyone who was at the rally as we await further information," Biden said after the attack.
"I've tried to talk to Donald. He is with his doctors. Apparently, he's been fine. I plan to talk to him soon," Biden said in a planned speech after the shooting.
Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer wrote in X that "violence has no place in our politics."
"Tonight, all Americans are thankful that President Trump appears to be OK, following a despicable attack on a peaceful rally," he wrote.
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said he was "appalled" by what happened to Trump, but relieved he was out of danger.
"Political violence has no place in us," he said
