Israel's Foreign Minister says Iran's Revolutionary Guard attempted to carry out an attack on Israeli citizens in Cyprus.
Posting on X, Gideon Sa'ar says the war attack was thwarted thanks to Cypriot security authorities in cooperation with Israeli security services.
He did not provide further details on the suspected attack. There was no immediate comment from Iran.
This comes as, earlier today, Cypriot authorities confirmed that they had arrested a British man on suspicion of terrorism-related and espionage offences.
Local media reported that the suspect had been monitoring a British RAF military base in nearby Akrotiri, as well as a Cypriot base, since mid-April.
It is unknown at this point whether the man is connected to the alleged plot by Sa'ar.
