The candidate of the left for the presidency of Ecuador, Luisa Gonzalez, who took the first place in the first round of the elections on August 20, declared yesterday that she has received threats on her life and that she was protected by the army.
"Today I received threats against my life as I am the potential candidate to win the presidency," Gonzalez said, according to a press release from her faction, the Revolución Ciudadana ("Citizens' Revolution") party. She called it a "sad" fact. who was wearing a bulletproof vest.
