Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Turginovo this evening, the village in the central Tver region where his family is from.
This was announced by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Tass agency writes.
His parents were baptized in the Turginovo church in 1911. A video is circulating on social media showing Putin getting out of his car and stopping to talk to people.
These videos were posted on Telegram channels and social media accounts, where they were allegedly shot near the village of Turginovo, Kalininsky District, Tver Region.
Peskov was asked if the president had made a trip to the region, but he confirmed this by answering "Yes".
"Yes, that's right. After visiting Senezh, Putin decided to go to the village where his family comes from. We will publish information and video footage in the coming days," Peskov said.
