The US State Department has issued travel advisories for its citizens, identifying the highest-risk countries ahead of the April travel season.
According to the State Department, Iran remains at the highest level of warning, Level 4 "Do Not Travel," due to risks related to terrorism, unrest, kidnappings, and arbitrary arrests of American citizens.
The update comes at a time of heightened tension in the Middle East, following coordinated US strikes on Iranian targets in recent months. As a result, several neighboring countries such as Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait and Bahrain have been raised to Level 3, which means the recommendation to reconsider travel.

The State Department emphasizes that the classification system, from Level 1 to Level 4, is intended to help American citizens assess risks and make informed decisions about traveling abroad.
At the same time, US authorities have also issued a global security alert, warning of potential threats from Iran-linked groups to American interests and tourist destinations.
The list of countries in Level 4 includes, among others, Afghanistan, Syria, Ukraine, Russia and North Korea, where complete avoidance of travel is advised due to conflicts, lack of security and restrictions on consular assistance.
