The eldest son of the longest-serving head of government in Israel's history—almost sixteen years in all—actually has a profession: Yair Netanyahu is the shadow adviser to the conservative leader's flashy media strategies, the one who put together the gears of the digital machine that the Likud leader uses in electoral campaigns and has not stopped even in these days of military campaigns.
Yair has not lived with his parents in their Jerusalem residence since before the summer. In August he was a guest in Puerto Rico of a cryptocurrency billionaire, but he is spending these 37 days of conflict against Hamas in Miami, although at the age of 32 he would be old enough to join the reserves, he did his mandatory service military in the office of military spokesmen.
Even from a distance he gives voice to his father's political survival. The Jerusalem Post newspaper has relaunched the data collected by a media analysis site. Yair does not express himself in the most popular media (X, Instagram), but uses his Telegram profile to distance his father from any responsibility related to the disaster of October 7 and place it on the leaders of the army or intelligence.
Local newspapers revealed in the spring that his father had suggested he take a long vacation abroad and also give it to Israelis inundated with thousands of his messages on various platforms.
Now the man who was considered the likely heir to Israel's far-right leadership says he has applied for a work visa in the United States but fears he will be denied because of his previous attacks on the US administration.
