Naim Qassem, the leader of Hezbollah, the Iranian-backed military organization in Lebanon, has insisted that the group is ready for a protracted war with Israel.
"We are prepared for a long confrontation [with Israel] and they will be surprised on the ground. The enemy's threats do not scare us ," Naim Qassem said in a speech.
He also described Israeli threats to kill him as "worthless."
"Our involvement in the conflict at this time aims to weaken Israel's position in order to reach a better agreement. There is no other solution except through resistance; otherwise, Lebanon will face extinction ," Qassem added.
Previously, the Israel Defense Forces said they had killed 380 Hezbollah "terrorists" in more than 1,100 strikes targeting the group since March 2.
