The US Embassy in Beirut has urged its citizens to leave Lebanon with any possible tickets they find at the airports.
The American Embassy stated this Saturday that those who choose to stay in Lebanon should "prepare emergency plans" and be prepared to "take shelter in the country for a long period of time."
The embassy also said some airlines have suspended and canceled flights, and many have been sold, but commercial transport options to leave Lebanon remain available.
The announcement follows a similar warning from UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, who said the regional situation in the Middle East "could deteriorate rapidly".
Iran has vowed "severe" retaliation against Israel, which it blames for the death of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran. His killing came hours after Israel killed Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr in Beirut.
