The continuous calls of President Vladimir Putin, echoed in yesterday's speech to the nation, for mothers to have more children, seem to have been answered in record time by the Russians.
Moderator Natalya Litovko has reacted to Putin's appeal for increasing births in the country to face the demographic crisis. While broadcasting live on Rossiya 24, the 43-year-old announced to viewers that she will have her third child.
"Since we're talking about the new national plan - the family - my husband just texted me to let me know we're having a third child."
Litovko, who is a supporter of the Putin regime, is a mother of two. "Ok, we'll talk about that later," replied the 43-year-old's co-host, smiling and embarrassed by the reaction.
These reactions come at a time when Russia's population is shrinking in part due to the state of the economy after the war in Ukraine and the high number of soldiers killed at the front.
