The White House has declared that the United States will have "complete and total dominance" over Iranian airspace in the coming hours, as part of the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East.
The US president's press secretary, Caroline Leavitt, said during a press conference that airspace control will pave the way for US aviation operations.
"We expect to have complete and total dominance over Iranian airspace in the coming hours, opening the skies for our brave fighters to continue to achieve these noble and long-sought objectives," Leavitt declared.
The statement comes at a time when tensions in the region have escalated significantly. Iran has continued to carry out retaliatory attacks on several neighboring countries in the Middle East, following military operations launched by the United States and Israel over the weekend.
Meanwhile, the chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dan Caine, said that the intensity of Iranian attacks has decreased significantly since the start of the conflict.
According to him, "ballistic missile firings from Iran in the combat theater have decreased by 86% since the first day of the fighting."
