Belarusian opposition leader Veronika Tsepkalo revealed in an interview with Albanian media that Minsk leader Alexander Lukashenko is ill.
Despite his health condition, Tsekalo said that Lukashenko will never give up power of his own free will, as he intends to rule Belarus until death.
" Lukashenko will never leave power on his own. This is the kind of person who does not give up power. Before these elections, we had some rumors even among political opinions and leaders that he would appoint someone from his circle to become the next president, but you have to understand his psychology. He is the kind of person who will never leave power. He will die in this position. He wants to die being President. The second scenario that could happen is that he could die from some disease. Because there is also information that he is really very sick, but looking at the level of medicine we should not rely on this scenario. But it is really difficult to fight with a person who is committed to being President until death. So for us the main concern is to put as much pressure on him as possible because he is harming the country every day ," said the leader of the Belarusian opposition in "Off the Record" by Andrea Danglli, on A2 CNN.
