The Rama-Meloni agreement for immigrants seems to be receiving other "blows" besides the Rome court which decided to return the refugees to the Gjadri camp.
Several humanitarian organizations that provide health care to migrants denounced Italy's migration agreement with Albania as a violation of the medical code of ethics and asked health workers not to cooperate.
This Friday, non-governmental organizations published a detailed analysis of the procedures to check migrants first on Italian naval ships and then in Albanian centers, to determine if they are "vulnerable". Only men who are considered not "vulnerable" will be sent to Albania.
Aid groups said there were no proper facilities or instruments to make such a determination.
Immigrants should be considered at risk of post-traumatic stress disorder or other serious physical and mental consequences, they said.
The groups criticized international organizations that appear to be cooperating with the project, identifying the International Organization for Migration and the Italian rescue corps of the Knights of Malta as "collaborators" in human rights abuses.
"The Italy-Albania protocol violates the code of medical ethics and human rights and puts the physical and psychological health of immigrants at risk," the statement said.
