Massacre in Moscow; the mystery of why terrorists chose Russia
Vladimir Putin

The death toll from the horrific terrorist attack in Moscow has risen to 133, with another 107 victims in critical condition in hospitals.

Russian authorities have so far managed to identify 41 people from the victims.

And they claim to have and have identified 4 of the killers who bloodied the concert venue. Now, after the release of the very harsh video of the attack, by ISIS, the question arises why the jihadist terrorist organization chose Russia to attack.

And while neither Vladimir Putin (who has denied instigating the attack in Ukraine, which Volodymyr Zelensky angrily denied) nor a government spokesman has stepped forward since taking charge, many analysts believe the terrorist operation "conforms " in terms of modus operandi, but also the choice of victims, with previous jihadist attacks.

After all, the Afghan branch of ISIS, ISKP is known for the extreme and very harsh methods it uses.

Who is ISIS Khorasani that caused the bloodshed?

The group, whose communications were hacked by US intelligence, releasing critical information about the planned attack and alerting Russia, is considered one of the most closely linked to ISIL.

Formed by the Pakistani Taliban and local fighters who offered their services to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, it is believed to have chosen Russia because of its dark past with the Soviet Union's war with Afghanistan, the war in Chechnya, relations the Russian government's close relationship with Iran and Syria, as well as Russia's military actions in Syria, but also in African countries with Muslim populations, where Wagner's mercenaries mainly fight.

Analysts even point out that especially recently, the terrorist organization has almost obsessively targeted Russian President Vladimir Putin with its propaganda, to whom it attributes the alleged oppression of Muslims by Russia.

Moreover, Russia is not merely involved, but is a major player in the global fight against ISIS and its affiliates, particularly through its military operations in Syria and its efforts to establish ties with the Afghan Taliban - the rival ISIS-K, something that means. that Moscow is seen as a key adversary by members of the terrorist organization. Something that is not hidden by the fact that both Russia and its president, Vladimir Putin, have become the focus of an "extensive ISKP propaganda war", as analysts say. For members of ISIS, which appears to be regrouping, Russia looks like... crusaders fighting against Muslims, analysts point out, noting that Moscow's relationship with the Taliban, but also with Israel, is anathema to them.
