In a telephone conversation that Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni had on Wednesday evening with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, she asked him to immediately cease hostilities, because "the situation in Gaza is unjustified and unbearable."
As stated in a statement by the Italian government, "the conversation was an opportunity to emphasize once again how urgent it is to provide guarantees for full and unhindered access to humanitarian aid, while Rome guaranteed the continuation of its offer, through the Food for Gaza initiative."
Italy also announced that it will welcome another 50 Palestinians and will contribute to sending new humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
