Bad weather also "brings" Greece to its knees, rainstorms and hail

The bad weather from storm "Adel" has caused major problems throughout Greece and especially exotic and attractive tourist destinations, including the island of Santorini.

Storms, heavy rainfall and strong winds hit the Greek peninsula and the Peloponnese.

"Protothema" writes that in Athinios, parts of the mountain in Santorini retreated from the intensity of the rain, causing landslides and blocking the road to the port.

A similar scene is observed near the Argyros Winery, where machines are trying to remove the soil and stones from the vineyard.

The situation in Emporio was dramatic, where the torrential waters swept away five cars, leaving them on different parts of the road, some damaged, others covered in mud and debris.

The well-known "sin" intersection, connecting Pyrgos and Emporio, flooded again, making access difficult and increasing the risk for drivers.

In Pyrgos, the damage was equally serious, with walls collapsing everywhere.

There was also heavy rainfall of terrifying hail, which created a coating as if it had snowed in Piraeus, the Dodecanese, and Tzoumerka.

The mayor of Thassos appeals to residents to avoid unnecessary travel and follow the instructions of the competent services, as the weather phenomena may continue in the coming hours.
