
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun called on the US and France, as guarantors of the ceasefire agreement that ended the war between Israel and the pro-Iranian Hezbollah organization, to "force" Israel to "immediately stop" its attacks, following today's airstrike in the southern sector of Beirut.
According to a statement from the presidency, Joseph Aoun condemned the Israeli attack on the southern sector, adding that the United States and France, as guarantors of the ceasefire agreement, must assume their responsibilities and force Israel to immediately stop its attacks.
" Israel's continued actions to undermine stability will exacerbate tensions and put the region in real danger, threatening its security and stability ," the Lebanese president said.
The Israeli military struck a Hezbollah precision missile depot in Beirut on Sunday, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said.
"On the orders of Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz, the army struck a warehouse in Beirut where Hezbollah was storing precision missiles, posing a major threat to the state of Israel ," the Israeli prime minister's office said in a statement.
