Pope Francis' last message: Stop the armaments and contempt for immigrants,

Pope Francis passed away at the age of 88, the day after Easter.

The last message and statement was just yesterday, where he reiterated once again that the armaments and contempt for immigrants must stop.

"God created us for life and wants humanity to be resurrected! In His eyes, every life is precious! Be it that of a child in the womb, or that of an elderly or sick person, who in an increasing number of countries are seen as useless people. How much will to die we see every day in the many conflicts that affect different parts of the world! How much violence we often see even in the family, against women or children! How much contempt there is sometimes for the weakest, the excluded, immigrants!

I appeal to the warring parties: cease fire, release the hostages and help the people, who are hungry and who aspire to a peaceful future! Let us pray for the Christian communities in Lebanon and Syria, who, while the latter is experiencing a sensitive moment in its history, hope for stability and participation in the destiny of their nations.

I urge the entire Church to accompany with attention and prayer the Christians in the beloved Middle East. I also dedicate a special thought to the people of Yemen, who are experiencing one of the longest humanitarian crises in the world due to the war, and I invite everyone to find solutions through constructive dialogue. May the Risen Christ – writes Bergoglio – give the gift of peace to the martyred people of Ukraine and encourage all the actors involved to continue their efforts to achieve a just and lasting peace”, were some of his words.
