North Korean leader Kim Jong Un's long journey on his private train to Beijing was a reminder that Russian President Vladimir Putin also has his own, a luxurious, armored one, with equipment beyond imagination.
Photos previously published by a Russian website give a glimpse of her luxurious layout. They show a personal beauty salon, a medical room and even a gym with state-of-the-art equipment, including a hyperextension machine and a stair platform.

The hammam features a "shower" that includes an "aromatic foam" function at a cost of over 4.3 million euros, while the train also features anti-aging machines, a ventilator, a defibrillator, and a patient monitor designed to assess pulse, temperature, and other parameters.
There is also an equally luxurious dining car, furnished with a red velvet carpet, curtains, and a long table in the art deco style.

Amid Russia's war in Ukraine, Putin appears to be using the train more, especially after 2021, as anonymous sources say it cannot be tracked in the same way as planes.
Russian media outlet Proekt reported in February 2023 that secret stations and connecting lines had been built in locations frequented by Putin, including Novo-Ogaryovo outside Moscow in 2015, Sochi in 2017, and Valdai in 2019.

Meanwhile, train spotter Mikhail Korotkov was previously forced to leave Russia after photos he took of Putin's armored train, some of which he posted online, attracted the state's attention.
In May 2021, Mr. Korotkov noticed that transcripts of his private phone conversations had appeared on his YouTube page, which he took as a warning to stop.
