The British Prime Minister, Sir Keir Starmer, has said that he is considering the possibility of sanctioning two far-right Israeli cabinet ministers.
He stressed that he was looking at imposing sanctions on Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who are vocal supporters of settlements in the occupied West Bank.
He said the pair had made "disgusting" comments about the situation in Gaza and the West Bank.
Earlier, Great Britain, France and Algeria called an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council to discuss the "terrible" humanitarian situation in northern Gaza.
