"We don't want to die, help us", the activist publishes the

New details have come to light regarding the shipwreck on the Greek coast in Pylos near Kallamata, where 79 people died while 104 were rescued.

The authorities say that the real number of victims is many times higher, as it is suspected that there were around 700 people on the fishing vessel.

Activist Nawal Sufi appears to have been the first person to contact authorities about the ship that was in danger of sinking in Pylos. The activist spoke with the immigrants who were on the ship, shortly before the tragedy. She was the first person to contact the fishing vessel before the fatal accident.

The activist has published the audio from the conversation with the immigrants. According to her, the accident was caused after a large ship had approached to help the immigrants and was throwing bottles of water at them. After that a panic was caused which led to the fatal sinking.

The recordings were made between 01:25 and 01:52 on Wednesday morning.

Audio number 1

Activist: Everything will be fine, don't go left or right, wait there until help comes.

Passenger: We don't want the ship to capsize.

Activist: The ship will start taking in water, but be careful if you all go to one place, the ship will capsize.

Audio number 2

In the second audio document, one of the refugees tells the activist that one of his fellow travelers is talking about dead people.

Refugee: A man from my ship says that 6 people have died.

Activist: Are the 6 people elderly or babies?

Refugee: I don't know.

Activist: Good. Oh Great God. Let me speak to the governor. They should calm down, not speed up because the boat will slow down. I want you to let me know what's going on. Send me a message or call me. Only one or two or three will get the life jackets and everyone else will stay in their seats. Did you understand me; I am sure they will find you and save you. Be patient, it won't happen right away, but they will come.

The fishing vessel reportedly left Egypt empty and picked up migrants from Tobruk, Libya. The family members of the people on board are constantly arriving at the port of Kallamata anxiously looking for their people who were on the fishing vessel.

The person I was talking to told me about a ship that approached their ship and tied it with two ropes. One rope was attached to the top of the boat and the other to the front. The moment the boats docked they started throwing water bottles at the migrants. They threw water bottles every five minutes and this caused panic in the ship and consequently brought the ship in danger of sinking at that point. What I can say is that throughout the day they never expressed a desire to continue until they reached Italy. The people who contacted me never said that they don't want to go to Greece, on the contrary, they asked for help, saying that maybe it was their last night," the activist wrote on Facebook.
