Predictions of war, Russian media echo Vučić's statement: Step into the
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that the world situation is rapidly approaching a major military conflict.

According to him, allies and other nations have already begun active preparations, the Russian newspaper Izvestia reports.

"Everyone is preparing for conflict. I'll be absolutely honest, everyone is preparing for war," he stressed, commenting on the rise in international tensions, writes Danas.rs .

"It will be even more difficult in our country on certain issues for the simple reason that people should know that everyone is preparing for war. And when they are preparing for war, it means that it will happen. And when we already know that there will be war, and there will be, I am telling you, because I see what is happening and how everyone is preparing," Vucic said, Russian state agency RBC reported.

According to Vučić, the countries of the world are not preparing for negotiations in order to avoid conflict, but are "digging trenches and waiting for the beginning."

According to Vedomosti, Vučić noted that Serbia tries to avoid participating in conflicts and resists attempts to get involved in future conflicts on someone else's side.

They recall that on September 2, he said that Serbia would continue to remain neutral in relation to Russia and European countries.

He recalled that Serbia is the only European country that has not imposed sanctions against the Russian Federation.

"I'm afraid that no one wants to listen or listen to anyone anymore. Everyone is seriously preparing for wars," Vučić said, as reported by the Russian portal URA.ru.

The President of Serbia said last week that "everyone is preparing for war" and that Kosovo is "trying to use this time before the war" to convince most European states and NATO countries to side with Pristina.

Vučić made these comments after being asked by a journalist about Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani's call for Europe to prevent Serbia's aggressive and destabilizing tactics towards its neighbors.

Speaking at the European Political Community (EPC) Summit in Copenhagen, Vučić said that "the world will become increasingly difficult" and that he "thinks we are heading towards a major conflict."

"We already know that there will be war, and there will be, I'm telling you, because I see what is happening and how everyone is preparing. No one is preparing for the talks, they are just looking at who will be on whose side. They are digging their trenches and waiting for the beginning," Vučić said.

Vučić did not provide any evidence to support his claims that there will be a war. He added that Serbia will “do its best” not to participate in that war.

At the start of the European Political Community summit in Denmark on Thursday, Kosovo President Osmani told reporters that Russia poses a threat to Europe, while Serbia poses a threat to the Western Balkans region, accusing Belgrade of copying Moscow's actions.

Osmani called on the European Union to "not reward" Serbia.

She said that, if there is no Western influence in the Balkans, "the malignant forces of the 'Triangle of Evil' - Russia, China and Iran - always come there not for charity, but have malicious strategic interests."

“Therefore, it is important that enlargement is pushed forward and the Western Balkans, those countries in the region that meet the criteria and work with EU values, should be taken into account to move forward,” she said.
Meanwhile, during a stay in the United States last week, Osmani said that Belgrade poses a constant threat to Pristina.

Asked in an interview with Fox News whether Kosovo and Serbia were on the brink of conflict in June, Osmani said that Kosovo's northern neighbor "likes to cause trouble from time to time."

She emphasized that the administration of US President Donald Trump has done a good job in preventing the escalation of the situation between Kosovo and Serbia.

In recent months, President Trump has repeatedly stated that he has prevented an escalation between Kosovo and Serbia.
