The plane crash in South Korea, the passengers were returning from a Christmas holiday tour

Most of the passengers on board the Jeju Air plane that crashed in South Korea were vacationers returning from a five-day Christmas tour in Bangkok, according to South Korean news agency Neesis.

Authorities are now trying to confirm the identities of the victims using the passenger manifest with the plane's landing positions.

The line between Muan and Bangkok has been operating four times a week since 8 December. The seasonal schedule is set to last until March 23.
